9/11 25th anniversary at Liberty High school

Liberty High School held a special program to remember and honor the lives impacted by September 11, 2001. The Tree Foundation of Kern was honored to be part of this meaningful day by donating and planting a Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) — the state tree of New York — in recognition of the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Before the ceremony, we had the opportunity to plant the tree alongside students from several Liberty High School classes. Each student took part by scooping a shovel of soil into the planting hole — creating a powerful symbol of remembrance that will continue to grow for generations.
